Autumn edit: Top 5 mac eyeshadows

So, in this post I will be sharing with you guys my favourite eye shadow picks for autumn. Autumn is definitely my favourite  season just because of all the beautiful rich colours!
Without rambling on too much on my first blog post, here are my must haves!
These shades all represent the colours of autumn perfectly and look amazing on all different coloured eyes.

I have been reaching for cranberry and woodwinked a lot within October and have fallen in love with the two. From a girl who would never dare to even wear eyeshadow I am definitely a convert into more subtle coloured eye shadows!
The two look just as good on their own for a simple wash of colour over the lid together with mascara for a day look. Woodwinked is a veluxe peearl finish which I love.  The beauty of veluxe pearl finish eyeshadows is that it can act wonders on its own, you can blend the colour right up into the crease creating the illusion that two eyeshadow colours have been used.  Especially woodwinked, the more you blend it on to the lid towards the crease the darker it gets as if another specific crease colour has been used.  I do think it looks more flatttering when I am more tanned so people with fair skin might need to be careful with this shade, as it may show slightly orange, but with a light hand I am certain it will still look beautiful.

As I have brown eyes, I have always tried to focus on buying colours that would bring the true colour of my eyes.  Through endless research, the concept of using reds and greens on my eyes seemed terrifying! Cranberry was a complete random and pointless purchase just because I knew that it would sit in my MAC palette and just be something pretty to look at. I have owned this eyeshadow for way over a year and never even be bothered and had the courage to try it. After many years of sticking to natural colours which basically looked like I had nothing on my eyes, I decided to bite the bullet and try the eyeshadow as I had seen so many looks recreated with the eyeshadow. As the colour is such a statement colour, it looks lovely just on its own everyday for a subtle statement but also can be transformed into a much more daring colour my combining with other colours such as my favourite shade woodwinked.
Another coloured eyeshadow which I adventured out into, this autumn was sumptuous olive, again this eyeshadow is a veluxe pearl. When the shadow is on the lid it becomes a gold shimmery colours with green undertones.
The last two eyeshadows are handwritten and cork. Both of these colours have been my staple since I discovered the concept of eyeshadows. Cork is the perfect subtle crease colour just to contour and add definition to the eyes and handwritten is a great dark brown colour with reddy brown undertones which helps bring out my boring brown eyes.  Handwritten is a matte finish whereas cork is a satin.
So that's a round up of my favourite eye shadows currently. Hope this has helped you guys to pick some eyeshadows. I would love to here what your top picks are too.
